About Us

Since 1991, Abbey Dance has been inspiring dancers to discover their passion, develop their skills and grow in confidence. What started over 30 years ago has grown into a thriving dance school with a reputation for high-quality training, excellent exam results and, most importantly, a genuine love of dance.

We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and Contemporary, welcoming dancers of different ages and abilities. Students can work towards ISTD examinations if they wish, while our regular shows, summer schools, workshops and masterclasses give dancers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and enjoy their dancing.

Our Principal, Jane Hendry, brings a wealth of professional experience to Abbey Dance. A multi-award-winning tap dancer, Jane has worked extensively across the UK and Germany as a choreographer and performer on stage and television.

Jane is supported by a dedicated team of professional, DBS-checked teachers who are passionate about helping young people develop their technique, confidence and individuality.

Our dancers consistently achieve excellent examination results, with former pupils going on to secure places at leading UK dance schools and successfully audition for television productions.
